Web Mockups

Merge Auto

A dealership looking for a website that was simple and easy to navigate, just like their car buying process.

Brief

Merge Auto was my first dive into the UX design process at 898 marketing. I was tasked with designing a few mock-up pages for the site. Merge was positioning itself as an easier alternative to buying a used car online.

Process

A clean and easy-to-follow interface was the focus of this design. I kept the graphics to a minimum so that the focus would be on finding a vehicle. For navigational elements, the Merge “arrow” was perfect for adding some identity to the site.

Challenges

The building of the Merge website was outsourced to a company that designed its i-frames for dealerships, so the inventory page was limited in terms of customization.

Aim Transportation

A logistics company looking to ditch the typical “corporate” website, and focus on moving forward with a fun and engaging website.

Brief

Aim Transportation was my first big mockup project at 898 Marketing. Aim was looking for a website that was less boring than their current site, but maintained the appearance of their newsletters. They also requested that their graphics be incorporated into the website.

Process

Video content is exciting to see on a website, so the team and I at 898 Marketing decided a full-screen video hero was the perfect welcome for the homepage. Aim’s newsletters were decorated with triangles, so I decided to incorporate them throughout the site’s background and on the career page. What better way to signal movement than the use of a triangle?

Challenges

While Aim liked the direction the site was heading, one of the biggest concerns was their truck branding. They requested that the truck be white and have their logo on it. With no experience in video editing, I took on the challenge and learned to adjust the truck’s colors in Adobe Premiere and add motion tracking to a logo in Adobe After Effects.

Hall of Fame Village

A sports enthusiast company looking for a website that was interactive, with a football kind of vibe.

Brief

The Hall of Fame Village (HOFV) was the second big mockup project I took on. HOFV is expanding the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton (OH) into a sports resort complex with hotel, dining, and entertainment amenities. With a resort this grand, the HOFV wanted its website to wow its visitors with a pro-football-themed aesthetic.

Process

The HOFV loved the Atlantic Falcons Website, so I replicated their grid system in this design. The original HOFV website had an interactive map that highlighted different areas of the complex. I’ve decided to keep the interactive map in the mockup, as it was an interesting component. I designed a hero section that showcased the complex, and created a video section that was similar in design to some popular football websites.

CoreHome Fitness

A manufacturer of personal gym equipment looking for a better landing page to showcase their products.

The CoreHome Landing Page was my fourth mockup at 898 marketing. With this project, CoreHome wanted to organize its product page, as the current page showcased the products on a 3-column grid. There was no particular style CoreHome wanted, so I had total freedom to design what I thought was best.

Process

I took inspiration from Bowflex’s website and how its products were organized. I designed a CoreHome branded hero that displayed the page title and created sections for each category of CoreHome products.

Challenges

Image assets were limited when working with CoreHome. I ended up using images from CoreHome’s social media accounts. After a few quick edits, they were ready to be incorporated into the final design.
